This Privacy Policy explains what information Petopia collects, how we use it, where it is stored, and what choices you have.
Petopia is an iOS app that provides pet breed identification, pet information, care reminders, pet health records, Welcome Home plans, training plans, local pet service search, and user feedback/suggestion features.
Petopia does not request government-issued identifiers (such as passport or national ID) and does not require your legal name to use core features.
Some data is still linked to your app account/profile context (for example, an Apple account identifier) even if it does not directly identify you in the real world.
Depending on the features you use, Petopia may collect the following categories of data:

Petopia uses Apple CloudKit for app functionality. Account, favorites, digital pet profiles, and care-calendar items use records in the app's public CloudKit database associated with your Petopia account identifier. Saved training plans, Welcome Home plans, Pet Health journal entries, and imported veterinary documents are stored in your private CloudKit database and cached on your device for offline access. Older saved training plans may be migrated from the public database. Private CloudKit sync requires the same iCloud Apple ID on each device.
Suggestions and feedback workflows may store records in CloudKit public databases for processing/status purposes. These records can include your Apple user identifier and submitted content. Do not submit sensitive personal data in free-text fields.
Petopia reads pet encyclopedia content and certain status data from Google Sheets endpoints configured in the app. This is used to load pet data and administrative status updates.
Local Services uses Apple location and map search services to find nearby pet services.
When you choose Cloud AI, Petopia sends the training details or breed-name candidates needed for your request through a Cloudflare gateway to OpenRouter and its selected model provider. The gateway checks your Sign in with Apple identity and stores an account-linked usage count to enforce daily limits. Petopia does not put the OpenRouter API key in the app. Pet Health journal entries and scanned veterinary documents are not included in Cloud AI requests.
Pet health journal entries, scanned text, and imported veterinary documents are cached in Petopia's app storage on your device and synced to your private iCloud database when signed in. Text recognition runs on-device. Petopia does not send these records to its Cloud AI gateway. Records can also leave your device when you choose to share or export them.
We do not sell your personal data.
Petopia is not designed for third-party advertising tracking and does not use collected data for cross-app tracking.
Petopia is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request deletion.
Data may be processed in Apple and service-provider infrastructure that can operate in multiple regions.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date when changes are made.
